Chelsea Weisbord graduated cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and graduated cum laude from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2016. In law school, she was a member of the Hofstra Law Review and served as Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. Ms. Weisbord is admitted to the bars of the State of New York, the United District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

 

Ms. Weisbord represents municipal and private clients in state and federal court in complex civil litigation matters, including civil rights, employment discrimination, freedom of speech and religion, police liability, zoning and land use, and beach rights matters. Ms. Weisbord has also handled several matters involving constitutional challenges to make mandates and other COVID-19-related safety protocols in schools. With thorough preparation and excellent writing communication skills, Ms. Weisbord is often able to resolve matters in her clients’ favor through pretrial motion practice.

 

Before joining Sokoloff Stern LLP, Ms. Weisbord served as a judicial intern for the Honorable R. Bruce Cozzens, Jr. for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Nassau County.

 

Ms. Weisbord co-authored Chapter 5 (First Amendment Claims) of the American Bar Association’s Fifth Edition of Sword and Shield: A Practical Approach to Section 1983 Litigation.
